When I went back to revise my second book, I realized it was a collection of scenes and didn't have an overall story to tie it together.<br /><br />But I think it's more than looking at the big picture--it's understanding what 'story' is. When I've critted and pointed out that there doesn't appear to be a story, the immediate responses is: "Of course there is!"
