There are lots of mums who have books out there. They don't say much on how they do it. I can't begin to imagine how you would do it with a full-time job either.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1163829887162955058.post-52866856942360849942010-12-02T17:39:41.747-08:002010-12-02T17:39:41.747-08:00I'm anticipating this, but a small price to pa...I'm anticipating this, but a small price to pay for greater freedom. I read several blogs and writer's magazines and have never seen anything like this, i.e. explanation of how it benefits a published author to enter contests. Perhaps this could be an article for you to write for RWA's magazine or Writer's Digest?
Thanks again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1163829887162955058.post-82927404846653178772010-11-29T19:07:39.778-08:002010-11-29T19:07:39.778-08:00Anon,

There are a lot of published author contests that "readers" do the preliminary judging. A good example of this would be the ROMCON contest. In this case, the sales for the people making finals really increased significantly.

There are also contests where bookbuyers are the judges. If they like the book, they make sure your story is in their books stores.

Hope that helps.

ScottScott Eaganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17209357682070126879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1163829887162955058.post-33855869530460235862010-11-29T15:34:49.269-08:002010-11-29T15:34:49.269-08:00Scott,

Is that the idea, to get it in front of other editors? Would appreciate some explanation.
