Welcome to the Labor Day Blog Hop and your stop at Greyhaus Literary Agency!
September is often the time for new beginnings. Kids are heading into new grades and writers have decided that the summer is now over and it is time to start into that project you had planned on writing during the summer. This means firing up the computer, not logging into Facebook or Pinterest, skipping the photo album of family reunion and going straight to that blank page taunting you.
It is time for the first line.
So, that is the challenge today.
What is the first line of your manuscript you are either shopping around to agents or getting ready to submit to agents?
Just the first line!
Post that first line here and the one that gets me hooked the most. The one that seems the most exciting can submit a partial of the first three chapters and synopsis either for critique or as a real submission.
This is a rare opportunity since Greyhaus is currently closed to unsolicited manuscripts.
You have to play to win!
You have until Sept. 15th to submit that first line!

Here is my entry for your first line contest.
ReplyDeleteEvery Wednesday Kate stood on the same front porch, her hand poised inches from the door, willing herself to do the unthinkable—walk away without knocking.
Thanks for the great opportunity!
