You Can Do It!

As I get ready to run out the door today taking my son to am swimming practice, I wanted to leave you with something to get you through the day.

There will be times when your story seems like it is falling apart. There will be times when you believe everyone hates your writing. And there will be times when you raise your hands in the air and scream, "What is the point."

When those moments happen, stop and take a few breaths.

Remember why you started writing in the first place. You had something to say and you wanted to say it. You had a passion for telling stories and this was a way to do it. You loved it.

And you still do.

It is just at this moment when you are having a tough moment, day, or week. It will pass and you will be back on track.

The key is to find someone, who will be the person who tells you things are fine. It can be a friend, spouse, parent, kid, or even your dog. Listen to them. They are right and it is just your conscience and your frustration getting you side-tracked.

And for those of you with editors who have deadlines? TALK to them. In 99.99999% of the cases, they have the additional flexibility in the schedule to accommodate a week to get your head in the game.

Now, go take a walk and get back in there. You have a story to write.
