One of my favorite authors is Wayne Jordon. If you have not read his stories, you are totally missing out. He posted on FB a great quote that you need to really listen to.
"If you have read any of my two recent releases or are in the process of reading, I'm going to ask you a favor. Reviews are very important for sales, so I need you to post a review of each book."
If you love the book, proclaim it to the world. Get on EVERY site you can find and hype up that book. THEN, send those comments directly to the author. Let them know you loved the book. If you know the author's editor (and for writers you can find this out fast) let them know as well.
But there is more...
Buy their books. Buy those books for your friends. Now, here is the catch - Buy the books new. While I 100% support bookstores and places you can get used books, if the book is used, NO ONE sees the sale. The author gets nothing. The numbers don't get to the publisher...you get the idea!
You can also just talk up your favorite author. Share your comments on any social media. Take pictures of your book. And yes, SHARE THESE WITH YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR!!!!!!!!
They are busting their butts to write great stories for you. The least you can do is let them know what you are thinking.
