Ideas Developed During Social Distancing May Be Terrible

I get it, we are all stuck in our homes. We have cleaned our house from top to bottom, done the laundry, worked as much as we could from home so now what? For many, they are taking up new hobbies. One of my authors is painting. Another friend thought she would start crocheting, others are trying to play new instruments. For writers, this is a time to "really get going on that novel" or even, "time to start that novel." But I have a word of caution.

Those story ideas may likely be terrible.

Yes you have time, and that is good, and you should be using it to write. But for many, that unlimited freedom may cause your brain to spiral out of control. Ideas will seem like a great idea, but in reality, that story premise is just plain stupid.

Remember, you have no one to throw things at you when you think a story about Alien Vampire Bunnies would be a great idea!

So, keep yourself in check. Think before you go down those crazy paths. Use all of the skills you know are right!

Together, we can avoid an onslaught of terrible writing.
