It's Been A Month, So What"s Up?

I know, I have been AWOL for a while, but "Life" has been in the way over here. Youngest will be graduating this Friday so getting through all of those wonderful college wrap-ups has been a bit hectic as many of you know. Since she is a dance major, we have had a tone of recitals to deal with as well as her concert performances (she plays cello too, of course).

Middlest is still in Florida navigating being in charge of running a collegiate equestrian team in an interim position so we have had a ton of hours just being on the phone and being that shoulder and support ear.

Oldest wrapped up his coaching season in New York and instead of staying back there, he decided to head home for the summer, which, of course, meant I got to fly back to Chicago where he picked me up and we got to do a quick drive back to Seattle.

On top of that, I have been madly prepping for the 4 upcoming conferences that I am totally excited about, working with my clients on their current projects and, of course, reading new submissions. In fact, this last Sunday, the day was spent reading over 90+ new submissions.

So, as you can see, I have not just been sitting around.

But,  I was in contact with my writers that are currently working on projects. And that, my friends, is important to remember when you are working with an editor or agent in the future. ALWAYS keep them in the loop as to what you are working on and the status of your projects. Keep them on your radar.

What is really important about this is that if an editor talks to your agent and happens to have a project that they are looking for, because you are on their radar, you might be the person who they mention. If we don't hear from you, it will be the case of "out of sight, out of mind"
