Scott Eagan is the literary agent for Greyhaus Literary Agency.
Greyhaus Literary Agency focuses exclusively on the traditional romance and women's fiction genres. Scott believes through increased education as well as communication between publishing professionals and authors, these two genres can continue to be a strong force in the publishing world.
From what I've learned about Mr. Eagan through extensive research, he is one of the most generous and instructional agents in the business. I think Mr. Eagan is intuitive and picks up far more on the PROMISE of a query and wants to see if the project has follow through. From all the feedback I hear, even a rejection from him provides constructive criticism and oppportunity for growth.
For all the reasons above, he is the FIRST agent on my A List.
Valerie, Karen is sort of hitting on the head here. When I ask for a partial, it is likely that all I had that came in was from the "form" submission on my website. In that case, all I had was a "blurb" to work with. You are right, that number does seem a bit high on the surface. I did want you to know what that partial was coming from though to clear things up. Scott
First thing I do each morning before I start my day, is check with Scott. I am "gathering" his words of wisdom. I've known for a long time he is the agent I will submit to when my novel is finished. He makes such good sense!
Eighteen out of 30 seems like a high percentage! Do you always request that many partials?
