In an effort to share some holiday spirit, I will be giving away at the end of this week a gift card for all of you book lovers. To participate, all you have to do is post a comment. You can enter once a day. At the end of the week, I will draw one name for the win! Just tell us what you either A) would do; or B) you did do.
DAY 2
On the second day of Scott's Christmas, the publishing world gave to me... The pages of revisions for my book...
Disclaimer: Individuals entering more than once per day will be eliminated from the drawing. Individuals using this to post 'SPAM' like messages will also be eliminated from the drawing and their messages will be deleted.
I wouldn't be able to wait a second before diving in and reading the revisions, the curiosity would be too great!
ReplyDeleteThen, I would probably "percolate" on them for a day before diving into making the changes. Would also thank the editor for taking the time to make my book better, as well as discuss any changes that needed clarification. You know. Not that I've thought about this day coming or anything. :)
I would brace myself and scan the pages, holding my breath. Then I would breathe out, draw up a revision plan and start working at once!

A few hours, maybe even a full day to breathe deeply, then plunge in.
ReplyDeleteI'd be so excited to receive revisions, I'd Dash..er..to the computer with the speed of one of Santa's reindeers, log in, and up, up and away!
ReplyDeleteI would cringe at first and probably have to force myself to start reading with a deep and probably futile hope that the revisions were few. I would nurture a small hope that afterwards I would decide that the revisions were not only warranted but improved my manuscript without undue intrusion.
