On the third day of Scott's Christmas, the publishing world gave to me... The check for my advance shows up.

Fist pumps would be involved, and then a quick trip to the bank. So fingers crossed this will happen someday.
ReplyDeleteDepending on the size of the advance, I might worry that my book wouldn't earn out the advance and I would be asked to pay something back.
ReplyDeleteI would hightail it down to the bank and make a deposit. Then, I would swing by Starbucks and order an overpriced, but very yummy coffee.
ReplyDeleteI'd call my DH, while jumping up and down, and scream into the phone about the wonderful check. Then, I'd make sure to head to Starbucks to celebrate, and deposit the check before I lost it! :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I would worry about what I would do with it, because it's a nightmare to cash checks in my country. However, I wouldn't worry too much if the sum were large :)
