Moving Forward

In October 2003, I opened Greyhaus Literary Agency with a couple of goals. The first was to focus exclusively on romance and women's fiction. I love the genre and there is a lot of potential with this genre. The second is to provide education for authors. Finally I wanted to increase communication between authors and the publishing professionals.

It is now 2020 and I AM NOT deviating from those goals.

Yes, I fully understand that there are problems in the romance industry right now. But these problems CAN be overcome, not by fighting, not by running away, but by finding a solution to the problems TOGETHER!

In recent days we have seen a ton of problems and fall out with the Romance Writers of America. The RITA Awards were cancelled. Authors are pulling memberships. Even now, there is a question as to whether or not the conference this year will even go (rumors at this point).

If all of these things do happen, writers need to know that many of their support networks are now gone. It will be harder to connect to people. It will be harder to learn the basics of the industry and writing.

But please know, Greyhaus will still be here.

I will be available to do workshops for writing chapters. I will still be here to do blogs and IGTV videos (upcoming video will be on critique skills). I will still be here to acquire authors in romance and women's fiction.

My recommendation for authors is to work to find solutions. Be a positive part of change and look to make things better.
