No excuses

Many of you have heard me say this before, but I will say it again. There are no excuses.

I say this to students in the classroom. There is no excuse for a paper being late.
I say this to writers. If you are asked to submit something, there is no excuse for why it is not ready at the time someone asked.
When an editor asks for revisions, there is no excuse why your work is better or why you can't make those changes.

As writers, coming back with constant excuses, especially for those still in search of the elusive "contract" just demonstrates more of a reason why that contract won't make it back to you!

Just a thought for a Friday!
